Arch 4 ECO
Dream, Discover, Define....Authentic Design...4 You. Arch 4 Eco
Arch4Eco (A4E), formed in 2003 by Judy Guentzler-Collins, Intern Architect/LEED AP, is an architecture firm whose primary focus is sustainable building and design. We believe sustainability means finding the most responsible and pragmatic solution while simultaneously meeting the comforts and needs of the client.
Preservation of the environment is key to all of our designs, and whether working on small remodeling jobs and additions, modest to high end custom homes or teaming w/ The Nix Group in Austin, TX. (www.nixgrouparchitects.com) on commercial projects, we encourage our clients to incorporate green elements into their designs. As a result, we have worked with Structurally Insulated Panels (SIPS), Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF - Rastra/Eterna, Faswall & Polysteel), Strawbale, Super-Insulated Structures, Passive/Active Solar, Rainwater/Gray Water and have recently attended a weekend workshop on Adobe and Compressed Earth Block. We also welcome clients that wish to build homes using conventional methods, such as frame and stucco.
Judy, a 27-year resident of Cochise County, is a graduate of the Univ. of AZ. with a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture. Her diverse experience ranges from local garage additions to working on the restoration and adaptive reuse of the 16-story historic Stephen F. Austin Hotel in Austin, Texas while working for The Nix Group in Austin Texas. She then returned to Cochise County to work for A.A. Gray Designs, which immediately preceded Judy establishing A4E.
